The leading people behind Brilliance are the husband and wife duo– Mr. Raji Chacko (M .Sc, B. Ed, PGDME) and Mrs. Lotus Raji (M. Sc, M.Ed). Both are Post Graduates in Mathematics from leading Universities in Kerala, India. They have completed their “Bachelor of Education” Degrees from University of Calicut in 1993. Mrs. Raji finished her Master’s degree in Education from Bombay University in 1998 and Mr. Raji completed his “Post Graduate Diploma in Management of Education” (PGDME) from the same university in 1999. They have also done the “overseas teachers re-training course” from Auckland University in 2008.
Mr. Raji Chacko secured first rank at school and stood first in Mathematics in all schools under the Corporate Management of Tellichery Diocese in SSC Examination of 1984, scored 100% marks in Mathematics in HSC(Pre-Degree) Examination of Mahatma Gandhi University in 1986, and also scored 100% marks in Statistics, a subsidiary Subject for B. Sc. (Maths) Degree in 1989.
Mr. Raji was working as a mathematics teacher in R A D A V Jr. College in Bombay until they arrived in Auckland in May, 2007. Mrs. Lotus Raji was working as a mathematics and science teacher in Air India Modern School, Bombay.
Mr and Mrs Raji are long associated with Brillance Classes, the leading tuition centre in Bombay for Year Xl and Xll science, with many branches all over Bombay. Mr.Raji Chacko is very popular for his innovative teaching methods and short cut tricks to make mathematics easier and more enjoyable. He is known as “The Mathemagician” among the students for his amazing speed and accuracy in solving mathematical problems. Mrs Raji has the inborn talent to go to the level of students and make them understand complex mathematical principles.
The experience they gained (in management and teaching) from Brilliance helps them in the smooth running of BEC. They worked as relieving teachers in many top schools in and around Auckland, such as St.Peter’s college, Mt Roskill Grammar, Auckland Grammar, Lynfield College in order to gain first-hand experience of NZ classrooms. Presently, they work full-time for this institution, BEC! |
